In the case of mounting the joists on hard surfaces such as wood, concrete, etc., you can optionally attach the bases to the ground, although it is not obligatory.

The set wedge height can also be locked using a countersunk screw. Special holes in the wedge surface allow this without the risk that the screw head will protrude above the wedge surface.
